Greetings in the name of our Lord! My name is Rev. Wayne O. Wingfield. I have spent 50 plus years in the ministry as a Senior Pastor, Associate Pastor, as a ministry administrator, and in missionary service. After serving as Director of the North Carolina division of "World Relief" for twenty years, I was led to start Home to Home ministries which I have served since 2005.Through these years, I have facilitated the resettlement of thousands of refugees, which has brought me in contact with many people who are in need, both spiritually and physically. In working with people with needs, a truth I have always known and held dear has been affirmed; meeting people’s physical need opens the door to minister to them spiritually.
As part of the resettlement process, I have worked with hundreds of churches, both large and small. I have come to realize that churches who have an evangelistic heart, know that many times physical needs must be met in order to validate the love of Jesus Christ they profess. In my work, I have continually been faced with the difficulty of procuring goods and services needed to help refugees get a start. I have also seen individual churches faced with the same difficulty to fill needs discovered through their outreaches to the less fortunate of our communities. God has shown myself and others that these needs could be more easily met and the outreach of local churches and community based ministries could be more effective if we could establish a type of cooperative effort to gather and distribute goods and services where needed most. As we sought how this could work, God showed us the vision of Home To Home.
From this vision, we have developed an outline for a ministry that requires very little effort on behalf of the churches and local ministries who would join us. However, the benefit to both large and small churches and local ministries in their ability to reach others for Jesus Christ, is significant. It is a very simple outline that involves central warehousing of physical goods whose inventory is accessible through an Internet website which is available to all churches and ministries.
